Yosemite National Park was made famous in part by the work of photographer Ansel Adams, a celebrated photographer and environmentalist who worked in California for decades. He visited Yosemite many times throughout his career and made some of his most iconic images there. His interest in nature helped to galvanize the United States' environmental movement and his work increased the popularity of the new art form of photography.
Make your own way to meet your guide at The Ansel Adams Gallery in Yosemite Village. With your guide, travel to several locations where Ansel Adams photographed the granite domes, towering waterfalls and lush forests of Yosemite. Learn to apply his technical methods to your use of your own digital camera, using histograms to optimize your exposures, and understanding how the aperture settings, shutter speed and ISO affect your photographs.
During your 4-hour tour, you'll visit different locations on foot, covering a total of 2-3 miles (3-5 km) along mostly flat paved trails. You'll stop regularly at scenic locations to hear more about Ansel Adams' work and have time to create your own photographs.
With just 10 participants maximum in your small-group tour, your guide can provide individualized instruction to each person. Bring your own digital camera for this tour, which is suitable for beginning to intermediate level photographers.

Our guide was very personable and generous with her photographic expertise. The brief history of Ansel Adams' contributions was much appreciated. The balance between the time spent at each location and the time spent walking between them was just right. We had a great spot for the sunset. Definitely a memorable experience - quite apart from all the images captured. A full-day to allow a wider exploration would be even more appealing.

Booked class for my husband, he couldn't fault it. Highly recommend.
