Tulum Express Half-Day Tour

Great tour. We had small children with us and the tour was manageable with them. We were picked up by 8:00 am and back at our hotel by 2:00 pm, so not too long. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and also allowed us some free time to explore on our own.

The ruins were fabulous!!!! HOWEVER!!! the tour guide talked way to fast in a very heavy accent so very hard to understand. She went way to fast through the area , I could not keep up. She also seemed very rushed on the bus as well. The bus was VERY uncomfortable!! The tour said they would pick us up at our hotel, that did not happen!! We had to walk several blocks to meet the bus in front of a coffee shop!!

Ariel, our tour guide, is probably the sweetest man you'll ever meet. He was punctual to pick us up, friendly, and even quite funny. He made sure to give us all sorts of fun facts and information during the guided 40 minute tour so that we would have enough time to explore the rest of the ruins and have some beach time. Unfortunately, the tides were too high so the beach was closed to the public that day. If it hadn't been, I'm sure it would have been amazing to get a nice dip with such spectacular views.

This tour was wonderful. The only bad thing that I could say about this tour, was it was VERY HOT at the ruins.

The trip matched our expectations. Pickup was on-time 8:25 am at hotel entrance. Since the group is small, we reached tulum earlier than the big groups which takes longer to pickup. Guide was succinct and clear. The restroom facilities at tulum were good. The guided tour is 45 mins followed by a couple of hours of free time. Be prepared for hot weather. Take water shoes if you want to enjoy the beach. There are no change rooms or showers so take a towel to dry off the sand.
The one issue for me was me was that they dropped us at entrance of hotel previous travelers were dropped to lobby of hotel. I'm not sure if this is an issue with our hotel vidanata at riviera maya. We were not thrilled to walk back to our rooms after a long hot day at tulum.

Very nice transport vans with a highly competent driver named Christopher. The success of this excursion is the tour guide and ours was fantastic. Her name was Ana. She delivered bi-lingual historical information and instructions during travel time to the site. Once on site, her guide experience was readily apparent. She balanced the amount of historic information at each stop in the shade when possible, which we all appreciated with humor and connections to today. We had enough free time to wander the ruins and do some shopping in the entry village. If one wants to take advantage of the beach and swimming, a day tour would be better. I would definitely recommend this tour if you have limited time or do not want beach time.

Totally fun learning experience. We had a great guide from Cancun Passion that picked us up at the hotel and connected us with a small tour group. Very knowledgeable and a lot of fun.

We looked at a number of different tour companies and packages before selecting the Tulum Express Half-Day Tour through Cancun Passion. We were very satisfied with our selection at the end of the day! My only complaint was that our driver for our pickup and drive to Tulum spoke very little English and we had to make a stop at a taxi stand in order to pick up two other travelers who were running late. After that, however, we had a fantastic time! Ariel was our tour guide and he was informative and entertaining. He made sure to point out many interesting facts about the ruins before letting us explore on our own for nearly 2 hours! The beach was beautiful and the photo opportunities were plentiful. We were more than a little hungover when we started the excursion but once we arrived everything was fantastic. Bring an umbrella for some extra shade and definitely reapply sunscreen as often as possible. I highly recommend this excursion to anyone staying in the area.

You will be hot, even if you go in the morning. Wear a hat and plenty of sunblock. If you like ancient history, this is the place for you. It is worth the visit. The guide was informative and liked his job.

6 hours round trip for a 45 minute tour, just not worth the time. We were not given enough time for lunch and shopping. We stood in line st subway much too long, then by the time we finished lunch, we had 10 minutes to shop before we had to be back on the bus.
