What You Can Expect

Sacred Jewish Sites Tour from Tel Aviv: Tiberias, Safed and Mount Meron

Enjoy views over sacred Mt Meron before visiting its slopes on this full-day tour

Your full-day sacred Jewish sites tour from Tel Aviv kicks off with morning pick up from your Tel Aviv hotel. Travel along the Mediterranean coast as you make your way to the plain of Armageddon where you’ll find views of the biblical Hill of Megiddo.

Follow your guide on a tour of a local diamond factory and then enjoy some light refreshments before arriving at the Sea of Galilee and Tiberias. Founded in the 1st century, this holy city is home to some of the most sacred burial sites in Judaism.

Your guide will offer up insight and history as you visit the grave of Rabbi Meir Baal Haness. Learn how his tomb was rebuilt before making your way to the grave of Rabbi Moshe ben Maimon. This famous man was the author of the Mishneh Torah.

Savor a local lunch (own expense) before continuing on to Safed. This center of Jewish mysticism (known as Kabbalah) is filled with cobblestone streets. You’ll follow your guide to the Ari Ashkenazi Synagogue, through the artists’ district and to the Isaac Luria Visitor Center.

Your memorable tour concludes at the top of Mount Meron, where you’ll visit the tomb of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, who wrote the Kabbalah’s Zohar. Your guide will tell you about the tradition of bringing sons here for their first haircut when they reach three years of age.

Enjoy a scenic drive back to Tel Aviv, where you’ll be dropped at your hotel of choice.

Very unusual tour... or I'd rather say - unexpected... the two tour guides provided a very personal view on Judaism, on what it meant to be a Jew in ancient times and how it transformed into the modern times, all of it through the life stories of prominent Jewish Rabbis.

Highly recommend to anyone who wants to 'touch' the history of Judaism.

If you're looking for pretty places and nice views - this tour is not for you.

A rewarding and fascinating day. There were only three of us on the tour so our guide, Menachem, was able to adjust the itinerary to suit our requirements, which was very welcome. The visit to the churches on the summit of Mt. Tabor was a particular treat.

Our guide was entertaining and well-informed, both about the places we visited and about the history of Israel in general. We learnt a great deal.

Very good tour. We were picked up on time and taken to a bus depot to meet up with the rest of our group. The tour guide was also our driver and he was very knowledgeable. There were five people on the tour plus the guide and he made sure we saw everything we wished to see. We also enjoyed interacting with the other people.

We were only four and it was hard to listen all comments of driver and tour guide on the road, we also got to Safed on a very uncomfortable entrance that make it hard to enjoy the trip and visit all sightseeing.

A small group. Driver served as tour guide. We felt being rushed by the driver. However he was very nice and wanted to please us.
