What You Can Expect

Martinique Day Trip from St Lucia

Enjoy beautiful scenery on a day trip to Martinique!

Following early morning pickup at select North Island hotels in St Lucia, transfer to the IGY Rodney Bay Marina. If you're staying elsewhere, meet your tour group and guide at the Marina.

Climb aboard the Flying Ray, a motorized catamaran, with your passport in hand (you'll need that for shopping in Martinique). Bring along your own snorkel gear if you like; only snorkel masks will be provided.

Sit back and relax during the 1.5-hour sail to Martinique, which takes you across the St Lucia Channel. Watch for jumping dolphins and possibly surfacing whales as you cruise through the deep blue waters.

Make landing in Fort-de-France for a shopping extravaganza, perusing duty-free offerings like French luxury goods and jewelry along Rue Victor Hugo. Head to Le Grand Marché Couvert, a large bazaar featuring rows of spices, herbs and traditional Creole crafts. When your shopping bags are heavy and your wallet is light, take a stroll through gardens at La Savane to round out your 2-hour stay in town.

Back on board the boat, enjoy the scenery on the brief trip over to a serene bay. The cove of yellow sand lined with coconut palms is an excellent place for swimming and snorkeling. During your 3-hour stop there, choose to spend the time however you like. A barbecue lunch and open bar are provided on board the boat. Please see Itinerary section below for a sample menu.

Following lunch there will be a brief photo stop for a close-up look at the famed Diamond Rock before heading back across the channel. During the ride back to St Lucia, sip complimentary champagne and revel in the experience of being a true island-hopper. Your 10-hour adventure ends with your return to Rodney Bay Marina at approximately 5pm followed by drop-off at select North Island hotels.

If you are spending an extended amount of time in St. Lucia, this is a must do! The cruise over was pleasant and nice way to soak up some sun. In Martinique, they provided a short walking tour that gave us a sense of getting around, demonstrated some historical sites, and showed us the local market. Then we were free to roam on our own. The barbecue lunch was great! A nice spot for snorkeling and playing in the water, then the return cruise to St. Lucia. The crew was so friendly and easy to talk to! We loved this cruise, tour, snorkeling, and food adventure. It had everything!

I enjoyed the tour. I loved seeing Martinique and learning its history. We had rocky seas, so the ride there made me queasy. I think my brochure gave me wrong information because I expected 3 hours or so either snorkeling or at the beach. We didn't go to the beach and we were given 25 minutes to snorkel because of time constraints. Only because the water was choppy did several people, including me, become ill. However, I would do this tour again if I could get more beach/snorkel time. I also would not do it if I knew the water was choppy.
