Begin your day with morning pickup at your Siem Reap hotel, then travel by road about 30 minutes to the shores of Tonle Sap.
When you reach the lake, transfer to your boat for a cruise around the massive lake, one of the world’s richest sources of freshwater fish and the biggest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia. The lake is also home to many small communities that provide insight into traditional Cambodian village life.
Head to Kampong Khleang, a village that perches on stilts above the water. See the village up close from your boat (conditions permitting), and float through petrified mangrove forests and hidden waterways. Eat a picnic lunch at a home in the village to experience daily life up close.
In the afternoon, depart from Tonle Sap and drive through the countryside to Beng Mealea temple, passing rice fields and local villages. Built in the early 11th Century as a Hindu temple for Suryavarman II, Beng Mealea was overtaken by the jungle until recently. Follow your guide safely over large sandstone blocks to reach the inner sanctuary.
Your tour ends with hotel drop-off in the late afternoon.
