Great tour of the multiple historic levels of this basilica. Our guide from MEA tours was excellent.

Highly recommended. The tour guide with Mea Tours was excellent. No photos are allowed, per the church's rules. But there is a gift shop with post cards. Perhaps the best thing here is the relatively easy access to the Mitra Mithra temple, at the lowest level.

Our tour guide, Alexander, arrived to our meeting point a bit late and seemed a bit scattered in general. He was very kind and knowledgable, but sort of soft-spoken and difficult to listen to. I think he tried his best, though, and the tour moved at a good pace. Overall, it was a decent tour and we learned quite a bit. The place is definitely worth seeing.

Superb tour with Alessandro. So much history attached to this ancient little church and the myths/stories were very entertaining. The catacombs were very interesting and the fact that it is still a working monastery amazing. Thank you so much. Harry and Kerry Williams

This tour was the biggest joke. The person collecting money was late. The tour guide was leaving people behind and had to be told 3 separate times to stop and wait. He didn't seem to know much about the site either. Waste of money-do the tour on your own.

My favorite tour of all time, though I am partial to the art history side of this tour and it happened to be that there were just a few of us to make a real intimate experience. I felt I could really ask my questions and get to know San Clement. This tour is a must. Be prepared to purchase books on your way out - no photography allowed, but youll want to remember the stories behind those mosaics forever. Such an amazing piece of history to walk through from the ground floor 12th century basilica, down to a 4th century church, all the way down to late 1st century apartments, an alter to Mithros, and running water from Neros canals! Youll leave wondering what the apartments below even this last floor must be like, but alas, they havent uncovered it yet!

Fascinating both from a historical and archeological perspective. Definitely recommend. It is 1000% better with a guide
