Half-Day Sailing Trip to Isla Mujeres from Cancun

Great half day tour! Impressed with promptness of pickup, clean van with AC, Captain and entire boat crew. Once checked in, short ride to nice snorkel area. Perfect for newbies and families. Lots of fish and nice coral! Then off to the island with full bar and snacks. Two hour visit once docked to see island and get a bite. Then fantastic hour long ride back with sails out, music, drinks and fun. Crew was fantasitic and engaged all the passengers to make sure needs were met. Great way to see water, have a sail, and see island for a half day well spent. Would recommend for families, couples, or any group that wants to have fun!

I spent my birthday on this sailing trip! It was an all around great day. There was a good amount of people on the boat, but it didn't feel crowded. Plus it was a great was to meet other travelers. Leo and the rest of the staff on the boat were friendly and fun and added to the celebration. We even bought the professional pictures taken The free drinks and tequila shots helped also :- . The chips and guacamole were great and overall the trip was amazing and a great way to spend my birthday!

This tour was everything! Easy to say it was the highlight of my trip to be honest! first of all the pick up service was commendable! On time pick up, friendly driver, clean private A.C bus! We had about 30 mins to spare when we got to the marina so we were asked to just hang around while the catamaran got ready. The scenery of the marina alone, me and my friends took great pictures! The boat was very clean, not crowded at all, friendly and welcoming staff, adequate information provided. The open bar and music on board was great, we had a blast! We didn't have to ask to be served drinks, they were brought to us frequently. The chips and guacamole i have to say were the best i had ever tasted! The view of the clear turquoise water was beautiful! They stopped for about 30 mins to snorkel on the reef before heading to the island. I highly recommend requesting Leo the tour guide with the mic to give you a tour of the island. He showed me and my friends the in and outs of the beautiful isla mujeres along with some historic sites on a golf cart and we had a blast. You could also go to the beach, turtle farm, or just go street shopping and eating within the limited time. It was a truly great experience and highly recommend!

Searching for, selecting, and booking the trip was very easy on the Viator website. The excursion was generally as described, and we had a phenomenal captain and crew on the boat. The snacks chips, guacamole, and pico de gallo were delicious, and the drinks were tasty and plentiful! Plus it was a beautiful day for sailing, which made for a fun experience.

However, the in-country supplier was disorganized, and the day of the trip was a bit frustrating. A few days before we received an email giving us specifics for the pick-up, a dock fee that we would have to pay upon arrival, and contact information for the day of the trip. The morning of the pick-up we waited for almost a half hour with no word from the supplier that they were running late. We tried texting and sending a WhatsApp message both methods recommended in the pre-trip email, but received no response. We finally had the concierge call the local number, and were only then informed that the transport was running late. When the driver arrived, he was very nice but clearly flustered. The four people in our party meant that the van was completely full, and one of the available seats was broken -- it was no longer attached/bolted to the van, but it was the only seat left. My sister sat in it and was afraid what would happen if we were in an accident, and was bumped and jolted the entire drive to the dock. The drive to the dock was also less than ideal -- the driver was trying to make up for lost time, but that meant speeding and weaving more than was probably safe. The check-in process at the dock was disorganized, and we took off later than anticipated. I think this led to a shorter snorkeling experience, which was disappointing because the water was amazing and there were so many fish! Finally, before the drive home, the driver accepted a tip from another passenger so he would stop at a convenience store for that passenger because she was thirsty. This was disappointing and annoying, because we all wanted to get back to the resort at that point and it was an extra 10 minutes added to the trip just for one person. I appreciated the boat crew, and the boat trip was fun, but I don't think I would recommend this particular excursion.

Our tour was delayed a day because of the wind but when we finally got to go it was an awesome tour! Very friendly staff on the boat and the photographer was great.

Excellent day with knowledgable crew and Isla Mujeres was fun and unusual. We had the best day of our Cancun trip on this sailing trip!

The staff was truly awesome! Pickup and dropoff was timely, too! Didn't particularly care for the aggressiveness of some of the merchants on Isla Mujeres. We had envisioned touring the streets and beaches with much less hassle. Aside from this which one should expect I suppose, I would recommend this tour!!

Very well organized and well attentive guides. Worth every dollar and then some.

Santiago, Ricardo and Roberto did an excellent job making sure we had fun and felt comfortable. The service was amazing. The sailing was nice and the water is so beautiful. The only down side was the Island itself. We had pictured a small picturesque island and beach with little development but it was crowded, dirty and mainly consisted of souvenir shops. It would have been helpful if the crew had mentioned that the restaurants don't take credit cards even if it is posted that they do. After eating lunch we were told they couldn't take credit cards so we spent almost all our cash and did not have money for tipping the crew.
