Make your way to the bike shop in Waikiki, where you'll meet your local guide and get fitted for a bike and helmet. Then climb aboard a minivan with your small group of 7 people for the 2-hour drive to the North Shore.
Watch out the windows as you leave Honolulu and the urban scenery changes to verdant, mountainous territory. Get to know your fellow cyclists and listen as your guide fills you in on the history of the area. Visit the Pali Cliffs, where the bloody Battle of Nu'uanu took place in 1795.
Upon arrival at the North Shore, stretch your legs and hop on your bike. Begin pedaling down a lush jungle pathway that runs along the stretch of famous surf beaches known as the Seven-Mile Miracle. Pause at Sunset Beach and Pipeline to watch the locals unload their surfboards from the back of their own bikes and hit the enormous waves. Your guide will point out the rental homes where the world-famous surfing superstars stay during the winter big-wave season.
Continue on to stops at Turtle Beach and Waimea Bay, then pedal through the charming town of Haleiwa. Stop at one of the North Shore's famous shrimp trucks for a delicious lunch of traditional garlic shrimp (own expense).
After lunch, ride past one of Oahu's last sugar mills in Waialua, then hop off your bikes at a secluded beach to swim and snorkel with the local green sea turtles (equipment provided). The bike tour ends here after 13 miles (21 km) of pedaling, and you'll board the minivan for the 1.5-hour ride back to Waikiki. On the return trip to the bike shop in Waikiki, enjoy views of the Waianae and Ko'olau mountain ranges, as well as Pearl Harbor.
