What You Can Expect

French Patisserie Cooking Class in Nice

Learn how to make traditional French delights such as macarons

Make your way to Nice's Old Town (Vieille Ville) to find the cooking school and meet your teacher, an experienced pastry chef. French pastries are legendary, and la  pâtisserie – pastry-making – is big business and a respected profession. Pastry shops are found all over France, in big cities and small towns, and fine French pastries aren't just for special occasions.

With a hands-on pâtisserie class you'll have a chance to learn some of the secrets of French pastry from an expert. Learn to make delicate French macarons and give traditional brownies a French twist (gâteaux Américains). Find out about the many applications for pâte feuilletée (puff pastry), including croissants and apple turnovers; and pâte à choux (choux pastry), such as éclairs and profiteroles.

Make fruity Corsican Clementine macarons or exotic Madagascar vanilla macarons. Layer fresh raspberries and vanilla cream to make millefeuille. Elevate international delights like strawberry cheesecake and chocolate chip and pecan brownies with newfound  pâtisserie prowess.

With help from your instructor, you'll end the 2-hour lesson with an abundance of delicious treats to take with you – not to mention the ability to recreate these baked goods at home.
