On December 31 2017 my wife and I booked a helicopter ride with a company called Miami Helicopter. During the tour it became obvious that Miami helicopter had very little regard for customer satisfaction and more importantly, customer safety.
Let me explain. As a veteran of over 20 years with Canadian Armed Forces, I have had many opportunities to travel by helicopter. I am well aware of normal safety procedures that should prevail in a helicopter. Our experience with Miami Helicopter was a disaster both for customer service and more importantly, customer safety.
Upon embarking in the helicopter, it was obvious that Miami Helicopter is using a 4 seater configuration aircraft to carry 5 people. My wife was seated in the centre rear with no room for her head forcing her to lean forward for the duration of the flight. Additionally, her knees were jammed against the centre console. As for myself, my body was in constant pressure against the door which in all my years of helicopter travel I have never experienced. I know that for safety reasons, you should never have any part of your body pressed against doors of a helicopter. On top of this, the person responsible for embarkation did not provide both sides of seat-belts. Only one side was done up and this person closed the door before making sure I was secured. I spent the whole flight securing myself by holding onto the back of the pilots seat.
When we brought the situation to the attention of Miami Helicopter right on arrival, we were absolutely ignored and treated with arrogance and dismissal. When we asked to be made aware of the plane model number and details of the travel, we were ignored by Miami Helicopter.
Be very wary of booking a tour with this company.
