This tour begins with pickup at your Miami Beach hotel, or at a central location Miami Beach. Travel to Big Cypress National Preserve, which is where the everglade forest begins, and where the wildlife is most abundant.
Drive into Miccosukee Reserve for an airboat ride, following the north side of Tamiami Trail as you skim across the surface of the water. Navigate with the natural flow of the water to a tree island, where the Miccosukee Indians lived for generations, escaping 19th century Indian Wars and deportation.
Visit the Clyde Butcher photo gallery in the heart of Big Cypress, where you’ll find powerful, black and white images of the landscape. See the cypress forest up close, while following a boardwalk that winds above the water, through the moss-covered trees. Big Cypress National Preserve is home to tropical and temperate plants, and the forest shelters a diverse mix of birds, reptiles, fish, and the endangered Florida panther. At the end of your time in the Everglades, make the return trip to Miami Beach, where this tour concludes.
