Once inside, you’ll enter the world of Winston Churchill, the British statesman and prime minister who led Britain through WWII. His wartime bunker is now a piece of living history, home to a subterranean network of rooms where wartime strategies were formed and secrets were discussed.
Explore the historic war rooms at your leisure, and use an audio guide to learn about the key points of interest. The site is also home to the Churchill Museum, which uses modern technology and multimedia exhibits to tell the premier’s story from the day he was made prime minister in 1940.
Known as an inspirational orator, Churchill made powerful speeches during the war and you’ll hear some extracts with iconic phrases such as “we shall fight them on the beaches.” Another highlight of the museum is the original 10 Downing Street door that Churchill walked through after he became prime minister.
How long you spend in the museum is up to you, but most visitors find 1.5 hours to be sufficient.

if you love anything about WW2 or Churchill I highly recommend going. get there nice and early, like 15-20 minutes before 1st opening and go then. go get to see all without the crowd. this museum really chronicles the whole of the war and really much of Churchills life in a simple and easy way. see where the war cabinet slept and ate during the bombings, some of the strategies used, real life letters and other nostalgia.
