Your full-day tour starts bright and early with a pickup around 7am from your Lima hotel. Sit back and enjoy a relaxing 2-hour ride along the South Pan American Highway. Your first stop is in Cerro Azul where you’ll want to have your cameras ready for awesome coastal views of the Pacific Ocean.
Next up is a quick brake in Chincha Alta where your group, with help from your guide, gains a better understanding for the city’s Afro-Peruvian culture. While in the El Carmen District, pop into a winery for a quick tour and optional tastings (own expense).
Lunch is served when your group finds their way to Ica, and sits down for a traditional Peruvian meal, complete with sopa seca — a side dish prepared with noodles, pork, potatoes, and peanuts. In Inca, visit the Helena Chocolate Factory, the Luren Sanctuary Church, and the Cathedral of Ica.
Afterward, it’s on to the Huacachina Desert. Your group reaches the desert at about 4pm, and hops on dune buggies to ride to the tops of large sand dunes. Once at the top, your guide helps you sandboard down. When the excitement is over, it’s time to take a rest with some free time at a nearby hotel pool.
The ride back to Lima is about four hours long, and ends with a drop-off at your hotel at about 10pm or 10:30pm.
