Overview

Spend a day in Verona on a trip from Lake Garda, and discover the charms of a city with Roman ruins, links to Shakespeare, and an Old Town with an abundance of elegant shops. On a tour, you’ll see and learn about Verona’s showpiece sights include Juliet’s House, the Verona Arena, and the gothic tombs of the Scala family. Round-trip transport from Lake Garda region hotels is included.
  • 8-hour day trip to Verona from Lake Garda
  • Learn about Verona’s history as you stroll through Piazza delle Erbe
  • See the Verona Arena, Juliet’s House, and the Ponte Pietra
  • Admire the tombs of the Scala family and the Castelvecchio
  • Spend some free time exploring the shops around Via Mazzini
  • Enjoy a convenient hotel pickup and drop-off service
Leave the Lake Garda region between 8am and 9:45am; the local operator will confirm your exact start time with you before you travel.
Then, sit back and relax on the journey south to the city of Verona. Known as the city of love, Verona is famous for its links to Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet but it’s also home to astonishing Roman ruins, Renaissance art, and operatic heritage.

Learn all about the city as you explore landmark-thronged squares like Piazza delle Erbe and Piazza dei Signori. See Juliet’s House (Casa di Giulietta) with its famous balcony, and hear fun facts about the house that’s dedicated to Shakespeare’s iconic love story.

See the Ponte Pietra, and admire Verona’s vast Roman amphitheater that’s known simply as the Arena. The stadium is thought to have seated around 30,000 spectators in its heyday. Other landmarks on your itinerary include the gothic tombs of the Scala family and their castle — the Castelvecchio.

After lunch, enjoy some time at leisure to browse the chic shops of Via Mazzini. Later, you’ll head back to your coach for the journey back your start point in the Lake Garda region.

We spent a lovely day in Verona. Our guide on the bus was very entertaining while the guide who showed us Verona was born and bred there so he was very informative. One has enough time to browse around by oneself.

Enjoyed our trip to Verona! Pick up and return was fine! Would have preferred to have done the walking tour on arrival so that I had time to return to any places of interest! As it was I felt the day a bit rushed as you had to watch your time all day for tour then pick up home!
Our guide was very nice but I constantly lost track of her description of buildings, history etc because her English was not that good!
Verona is a beautiful city but and I m glad I took the time to see it!

Great tour and tour guide. The only thing I would like to point out is that when you arrive in Verona you do not have a guided tour. You do your own thing and then you meet up with your guide and are put into groups depending what language you speak for your guided tour. After this you have more free time. Overall a great day out
