Great tour. Waterfall was rough so couldn't swim near it but still got to swim in the out parts. No rain except towards the end. The restaurant we ate at accommodated me being vegan. I will say you will get a workout especially at the waterfall. 500 step step steps to climb and I do mean climb!! Randall was amazing and knowledgeable. He made sure we saw every bit of what costa rica had to offer. Will definitely be back.
First let me say that the scenery and wildlife is beautiful having a professional tour guide is a must for a full experience of this country. Roy and Randall were our tour guides and were so knowledgeable about the animals, vegetation and history along every stop. It is obvious that they both love what they do and their enthusiasm makes the tours fabulous. We started at the hanging bridges, be prepared for a lot of walking and climbing steps, Roy spotted so many birds, insects and animals that we never would have noticed without him. Both guides bring along a telescope for you to see owls sleeping high up in the trees, families of animals walking along the rivers below the bridges. The photo ops are limitless.Next stop was the waterfall, again be prepared for many steps, over 500 down and 500 up! Lunch at a local restaurant was waiting for us on our arrive, traditional Costa Rican food of rice and beans, salad and a protein choice, very nice and simply prepared food.Off to the volcano for a hike up the volcanoes rock, a bit uneven stepping, but manageable. Randall explained the history of the eruption and mechanisms behind an active volcano, very knowledgeable. We had so many great photo opportunities along each stop of the tour. It’s a long physical day that is well worth the sore legs the next morning.P.S. - keep in mind you will need to be in good physical condition for these tours, we are a 56 year old couple and did just fine.
I loved our tour guide Erica. She was very knowledgeable, energetic and fun. The waterfall is a must see! We only wish we would of had more time to enjoy the refreshing water. The hanging bridges was really cool but very touristy. I also expected a natural trail but the whole trail was made of concrete. Finally, the
Hike to the Volcano was very short. The view was beautiful but was hoping for something more challenging .Overall the tour was good and the food was GREAT!
This was one of the best tours we have been on. Our guide Erika was excellent - She went out of her way to make this a brilliant experience and was really knowledgeable about the local wildlife. She also made great recommendations about other things to do/places to visit in the local area. We really enjoyed the lunch and overall the tour was great value for money.
This tour was amazing. Prior to going ,after reading the reviews, I was concerned about the level of activity but it was paced perfectly. Our guide Erika was extremely knowledgeable. She pointed out so many animals at Mistico Park in the trees and hiding in the brush. She also taught us about all of the trees and how they grow. One of the participants did not feel well and the guide did everything under her power to make her more comfortable. She took us to a local restaurant and we had a delicious meal. I would definitely recommend this tour.
We had a great experience on this tour. Our tour guide, Erica, and our driver, Randall, were both wonderful - smart, kind, communicative. Our group was only 8 people, which made for an intimate experience. Erica and Randall both had so much to offer throughout all the aspects of this tour. It's clear that they take pride in their jobs. Appreciate they were willing to pick us up in La Fortuna's downtown area, as were staying outside of town on our own. Great with my gluten-free diet needs as well.
Ask Erica about the 5 toed sloths!
Erica was such a great guide and this tour was awesome! Being our first time to La Fortuna, this tour gave us a sample of the highlights and plenty of information about the history of the area. Our group consisted of 2 families with adult children and we all loved the variety and pace of the tour. Erica took us through gardens, trails and bridges always pointing out interesting sites and helping us to spot wildlife. The time spent at the waterfall and volcano were great and we all enjoyed lunch with Erica and her driver in town. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone up for an adventure and the chance to really get to know the area.
