Visit the Holy Land sites of Nazareth and the Sea of Galilee on this full-day guided tour from Jerusalem. Travel to the city of Nazareth, described in the New Testament as the childhood home of Jesus. See popular Holy Land sites like the Basilica of the Annunciation and Mt Tabor, the site of the Transfiguration of Jesus. At the Sea of Galilee, see where Jesus performed miracles and walk the shores where he first taught his followers. Also, consider being baptized where Jesus was, in the Jordan River.
  • Full-day trip from Jerusalem to Nazareth, Tiberias and the Sea of Galilee
  • Guided tour of popular Holy Land sights, such as the Church of the Annunciation and Mt Tabor
  • Optional baptism on the Jordan River
  • Transport by air-conditioned coach
  • Hotel pick-up and drop-off
This full-day (12 hours) tour begins with a Jerusalem hotel pickup in an air-conditioned coach. Then it’s a 2-hour drive to the city of Nazareth, the capital and largest city in the Northern District of Israel, also known as 'the Arab capital of Israel.' In the New Testament, Nazareth is described as the home of Mary and the childhood home of Jesus. As a result, it’s a center of Christian pilgrimage, with many shrines commemorating biblical events here.

On this tour, visit the Church of the Annunciation, where the Angel Gabriel visited the Virgin Mary to tell her she would be the mother of Jesus and the Church of St Joseph, built over the carpentry workshop of Mary’s husband, Joseph.

Further north, pass by the Church of the Multiplication next to the Sea of Galilee. This is where the miracle of the five loaves and two fish took place in the Gospel of John. Walk along the shores of the Sea of Galilee and visit the village of Capernaum, where Jesus spent time teaching in the local synagogue. It was also the hometown of the apostles Peter, James, Andrew and John.

Finally, travel to the southern end of the Sea of Galilee, where the Jordan River meets the Dead Sea in Tiberias. This is where Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist. Consider being baptized here as part of this tour.

The sightseeing concludes at this point. Then, board the coach for a return trip to the Jerusalem hotels, passing Mount Tabor, believed by many Christians to be the site of the Transfiguration of Jesus, on the return trip.

I liked the tour but the lunch was at 230pm... way to late. It was good thing I brought snacks with me. For people going on this tour, bring something to eat because it is a long time until lunch.

My Friend MaryJane Lopez and I Cassandra Najaria. Enjoyed this tour . Our Guide Yoel is an excellent tour guide very knowledgeable and paitent. As Mary Jane and I were always the last ones on the bus . This was my first trip I Isreal and Youl explained a lot and gave us tips on what to and what not to do for Yom Kappor. Thank you Youl

Great tour with Dan Porges. Lots of history and he kept the group moving while not rushing us as there is a lot to see. Dress for lighty but appropriately for church visits and have good shoes and lots of water!

We departed from Jerusalem for this tour at 6am. We were pickup and then 2 hours later waited at a rest stop for 45 minutes to pick up additional guests from Tel Aviv. 2 hours later we arrived at Nazareth more than 4 hours in total. We only stayed about 45 minutes. We then drove by Tiberius because the driver said that we were late. We then stopped at another church.... it had great views but our tour guide did not allow an extra 5 minutes to get some pictures. Lunch did not come until 2pm 8 hours after pick up. The stop at baptismal sight was about 1 hour. It was not worth the 14 hours to see 1 hour of Nazareth, 1.5 hour lunch, 40 minutes at a church, and 1 our at baptismal sight.

Very good, with knowledgeable guide.

There was a slight issue as ALL attendees were told to be at their designated meeting point at 5.50am. The guide suggested that it would be better to have a staggered meeting time.

Overall, an average experience. Few comments:

1 - The tour should not list Tiberias in the title of the tour. We did not stop in Tiberias. We drove through it on the bus.

2 - The tour guide was not very knowledgeable about the sites that were visited. He also seemed disinterested in explaining Christian history. This could have been because he was a Jewish tour guide. I would have hoped a tour to Chirstian holy sites would have been led by a guide who was more knowledgeable about the history and religious significance of the sites and the greater stories behind the sites.

3 - The Church of the Multiplication closed minutes before our tour bus stopped at the site and we did not see this location. The tour operators should be more knowledgeable about irregular holiday hours of tourist sites. An additional stop at a Greek Orthodox Church was provided in lieu of the mistake. However, this was not a holy site of any significance.

4 - Capernaum presented a great opportunity for knowledgeable descriptions of the site by the tour guide. The descriptions offered were not very informative or interesting.

5 - There was not much time at all devoted to spending time on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. When you are gone for 14 hours, one expects a little more time at a primary destination listed in the title of the tour. We were told not to spend time at the edge of the Sea when we were at Capernaum because we would again be at the edge for lunch. The time allotted for lunch did not allow adequate time to visit the shoreline of the Sea.

6 - Too much time was devoted to the stop by the Jordan River. There was nothing to see at this location if you did not want to go through the immersion baptism experience.

7 - The tour guide allowed extra people to enter the bus for the two hour drive from Jordan River back to Jerusalem. This made the bus completely full and uncomfortable for the remainder of the day.

Enjoyed the tour, guide was great and more importantly, patient with our requests! The last stop Jordan River was too long though, and it made us get caught in a 2 hour traffic coming back... In any case, learned a lot, saw a lot, enjoyed a lot!! Thank you!!

Our guide was a little hard to understand. She spoke very broken English. We felt there were several things she did not point out of interest that we heard other guides explaining. I took pictures of several explanations outside The Church of the Annunciation and The Church of St Joseph which she never explained or pointed out to us. We were pleased to see what was shown. We just feel she could have done a better job

Our tour guide was amazing. Incredibly knowledgeable and pleasant. I highly recommend this tour if you want to get a sense of the big picture. It's a full day, but worth every minute.
