What You Can Expect

Viator Exclusive: Early Access to the Accademia Gallery in Florence with Breakfast

Enjoy a Viator Exclusive experience at the Accademia Gallery!

Make your own way to Florence’s Accademia Gallery to meet your art-historian guide. Luckily for you, your ticket allows you step straight inside the famous museum, skipping the long admission lines that form in high season. It’s a highlight of this Viator Exclusive, which is available nowhere else.

Among the first to enter, you’ll see the gallery’s highlights without the hordes of people that gather later in the day. Walk alongside your small group and guide to see notable Michelangelo works including Palestrina Pietà, Prigioni and San Matteo.

Learn about the artwork as you wander the halls of the gallery, and then stand in awe before the David — arguably Michelangelo’s most famous piece of work. Occupying a head-turning post under the gallery’s dome, David is often cited as the showpiece of Renaissance-era sculpture, and remains one of the best-known pieces of Western art in the world.

Bid your farewells to David, and leave the gallery for a cafe in the heart of Florence where a typical Italian breakfast (strong coffee and sweeter-than-sweet pastries) awaits. Or, if you prefer, stay at the Accademia Gallery for a little longer to explore on your own and discover art by the likes of Lippi and Botticelli.

This tour was the best decision we could have made - we were first in to see the David and literally had no one else in the corridor with us leading up to this magnificent work of art. In addition, our tour guide was wonderful and very knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend!

Lovely! The highpoint of our trip was the opportunity to see the David sculpture for ourselves. With this early access option, we essentially had the place to ourselves for pictures and to enjoy it in all of its wonder. Later, the Gallery was absolutely packed and I know we would have been surely disappointed if we had been that crowded. The light breakfast after the tour was a nice treat. Effectively just a pasty and coffee, but enjoyable just the same. I highly recommend!

Tour guide Lucia was passionate about her description of David and the way Michelangelo could see the way to approach the large piece of marble. The breakfast was a very pleasant addition.

This was an excellent tour. Being able to have early access made all the difference. By the time we left, it was so crowded. Our tour guide I think her name was Julie was excellent. She told us many interesting facts.

Definitely worth it to see David up close without the huge crowds. When we first got in there were a handful of people milling around but within about half an hour there were huge crowds all clambering to take a photo. Our guide was great and very knowledgeable.

We had a great guide who was extremely knowledgeable and has a great deal of love and passion for the Art and Florence.
We were running late and Luisa left our tickets at the front desk which the guards at the front were aware of, via the CAF Travel group office. We were escorted to the small group and were able to catch up quickly. The David itself is amazing, but the other sculptures that were included were just as amazing in their own right. The tour started early, at 8:15 which gave us the opportunity to see the art in a quieter, more intimate setting. Incredible way to start the day! After that we went to the chocolate cafe to enjoy our Cappuccino and pastry. I highly recommend this to all that visit the Accademia.

Early morning entry to skip the line and beat the crowds took us straight to David ahead of the surge. Our guide was wonderfully knowledgeable and passionate about all she shared with our small group of 6. Worth the money and early arrival!

We had a wonderful tour guide, who was passionate about Michelangelo and the Accademia Gallery. She was engaging, and she did a great job explaining the history of the key sculptures, and keeping it interesting. The tour was the perfect length of time, and we were one of the first tour groups to get in. Worth doing this tour if you want to visit the gallery.
