What You Can Expect

Dubrovnik Buggy Safari and Cable Car Ride

Race along dirt tracks on this exciting buggy safari and cable car tour in Dubrovnik

Get picked up in an air-conditioned minivan at your hotel in Dubrovnik and head to the base of Mt Srđ, the 1,351-foot (412-meter) mountain that towers over the Dubrovnik’s Old Town. Once at the top of the mountain, spend a short time drinking in the magnificent views of Old Town and the Adriatic Sea before heading to the buggy camp.

After arriving at the buggy camp, listen to some basic instructions and safety procedures. Then grab your helmet and hop in the buggy. Following one another, drive your buggy through pine forests and bucolic Croatian countryside, getting glances of the eye-poppingly gorgeous Dalmatian Coast from time to time. Pick up some speed and have no fear about safety: each buggy has a roll cage and is very simple to drive.

After an hour of being in the buggy, take some free time atop Mt Srđ to explore: visit Fort Imperial and check out the war museum (at your own expense) about the Croatian battle for independence in the early 1990s. Or just stand on the terrace and enjoy the splendid views of Dubrovnik and the Adriatic.

After, get on the cable car and descend down the mountain to Dubrovnik’s walled Old Town and enjoy the lovely views.

This excursion was so much fun! You get muddy so wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty and ladies should bring a bandana or scarf to cover their hair. Also, the course is a rocky and may not be the best for novice ATV drivers. The cable car ride was quick but scenic.

The tour was a lot of fun and had great views of Dubrovnik and the sea! Our tour guide was friendly and personable. It was also great to get a little bit of history while touring the mountain top.

This ride was utterly a blast. Great views from the hill tops drive your own buggy get covered with dust bounce in and out of trenches, curves and a wooden jump ramp....all super fun. The trip ends at the top of the cable car ride, where there is a restaurant, monuments, and a nice ride down to the old city below.

We really loved this tour even though the weather was cold and rainy!! When we woke up the morning of the tour to such unfortunate weather, we were not sure if the tour would be running. I called and was told that the tour was on if we wanted to participate. I am glad we decided to go for it! They sent a van to pick us up from our hotel and we made our way to the top of the mountain. They gave us disposable rain ponchos to wear and after a short instructional session we were off. We had an absolute blast and the views were amazing!!

If you are heading to Dubrovnik, I highly recommend that you book up for the buggy safari.
We were based just outside of the range for hotel pick-up Lapad so had to meet our pick-up at Gruz Port. However, it turns out our pick-up left without us as another couple decided book up at last minute and so took our seats. Not a great start but they arranged for another pick-up for us pretty swiftly so it was handled well.
On the buggy tour itself, we had a couple of tour guys who seemed to really enjoy their jobs. Every enthusiastic, plenty of local knowledge to share and always willing to answer questions our group had. They even offered to take pictures for us while overlooking the city of Dubrovnik.
If I go back to Dubrovnik, which I'm sure I will, I would definitely do this tour again.

This was great fun, we booked 2 buggies one for myself and my wife, however when we got there she was a little nervous about taking it out as it was a lot bigger than she thought it would be. This was not an issue as we had more fun sharing a buggy. Our tour guide was a lovely young man very informative about his country. It had rained the previous day so we had great fun driving through the water. We then had to travel on the cable car back in to the old town covered in mud. They had a hose pipe to wash yourselves down with but our clothes were a little muddy but well worth the funny looks.
