What You Can Expect

Cinque Terre Sailing Day Trip from La Spezia

Enjoy a day sailing around the Cinque Terre coast

Start this fun day trip at sea by making your way to the port in La Spezia and meet the expert skipper who will be maneuvering your boat through the seas in Liguria for the next seven hours. Hop on the boat and sail away into the Gulf of La Spezia, also known as the Gulf of Poets because of the legendary scribes who have put their stamp on their area. From a distance, see the islands of Palmaria and Tino.
After a while, head west along the coastline of Cinque Terre to see the famous five villages that hug the rocky shore: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore. As the boat cuts through the shimmering sea, marvel at the colorful picturesque villages, some of which can't be accessed by automobile, which means the view from the boat is the best way to see them.
Once you reach Varnazza, sit down on the boat to indulge in a typical Ligurian lunch that may included focaccia, anchovies, cured meats and other delights (see sample menu below).
Continue sailing along the shoreline and even take the reins for a while as the skipper offers some valuable sailing tips. The trip finishes when you disembark back in La Spezia in the early evening.

We started in La Spezia and were able to get the best position at the back of the boat - starboard - best place for great photos - perfect weather. We went as far as we could and then did the return trip gradually - the best tour ever.

The sailing trip was fantastic. Franco was a wonderful Captain who was very knowledgable about the area, and clearly enjoyed his job. the views were breathtaking, and the opportunity to swim in the med was incredible. This trip was the highlight for the 4 people traveling in my group. Highly recommend!

This was a very enjoyable day, including meeting the other guests on the boat. Franco was very friendly and an excellent skipper and the boat was a good size to suit the 11 clients on board. Franco is very competent, aware of the safety of the guests, and cool and efficient with the handling of the boat. When there was sufficient wind we put up the sails and had two periods of sailing in the day. Snacks and lunch were provided with beer and wine focaccia with olives, tomatoes or onions or plain, some anchovies, salami and sun dried tomatoes. It could have been more interesting , with vegetables and cheeses would have improved it. Commencing at 10 am perhaps the last hour to Lerici was getting to most people's limit. It could happily have finished at 4 pm on the day.

I had a very special day! The group was only 10, amazing new friends from different parts of the world. Local crew had some trouble but they solve it so well that we couldn't realize there has been a problem at all.

This tour was amazing! Andreas met us at the port and took us out on the yacht straight away. The food and service offered was unreal and he did a great job. The views from the ocean were special and it was a different way to see Cinque Terre.

Brilliant day, well worth the money. Only 4 passengers and the captain so it was like your own private sailing boat! Weather was perfect, except for a lack of wind, but you can't help nature! 'Andrea' the captain was brilliant, informative and very helpful with info, or any other assistance required. Could not recommend the day enough. I'd do it again.

This tour was fantastic! It was windy and the waters were choppy, so the guide improvised and we were able to stop in villages we otherwise would have passed by. Great experience!
