Overview

Get a behind-the-scenes look at the 'Call the Midwife' set on this 1.5-hour tour in Chatham. Follow your midwife guide on a walking tour around the exterior filming locations, including the historic Dockyard Chatham.
  • 1.5-hour walking tour through 'Call the Midwife' exterior sets in Chatham Dockyard
  • Guide dressed as a midwife from the show
  • Learn behind-the-scenes facts about filming
  • Full access to the dockyard after your tour
Arrive at the Memorial between HMS Cavalier and HMS Ocelot inside Chatham Dockyard for your 1:30pm tour start time. Meet your tour guide, dressed as a midwife, and your group of fellow fans, then set off on a 1.5-hour walking tour.

As you make your way around the dockyard and some of the exterior sets of the popular show, listen to anecdotes about the show's filming, behind-the-scenes facts, and the history of Chatham Dockyard. Snap photos of the easily recognizable streets and buildings that are used to portray the area around what's known as Poplar Dock in the show. Marvel at the modern-day dockyard's ability to portray impoverished East End London in the 1950s and 1960s.

Following the tour, ticketholders are free to explore Chatham Dockyard more on their own.

I really fun tour showing the Docklands location for the series and learning wonderful trivia about the show.
What Viator should tell you is that you have to exchange your voucher at the cashier. DO NOT try to scan your voucher at
the machine to the entrance.

Very informative visit given by bright and friendly staff. The tour takes you behind the scenes and gives you the insight to how things are adjusted to make it all seem real

The trip was both informative and entertaining. The guide very knowledgeable and humorous and the time flew by. It was interesting to learm where and how scenes were created and the dockyard where this tour happened was in itself a great day out for both young and old. It would take two days at least to see it all so we will certainly be coming back again.
