There were 3 senior women in my group, plus another group of 6 senior women, and two young men. I received a call and text the day before telling me that the 1tour would depart 30 min earlier than advertised. The other women said they were not notified but coincidentally called in and were told. We arrived at the meeting point in Chinatown at 6:15 am on a blowy, cold morning to find nothing open, no coffee nor restrooms etc. when the driver, Sam, arrived I pointed out that there were several women requesting a WC stop. He said ok but we didn't stop until the halfway point. He never mentioned that part of the tour was optional, but rather led the group from place to place using public transportation. Someone asked for a souvenirs shop and he walked us quite a distance to a Balinese store where everything was made in China. The two men on the tour noticed and pointed this out...they were Chinese. Indeed it appeared that the travel agency was targeted to the Chinese population. There was never any mention of the option to spend time in the shops near the ferry port. And at the end, Sam asked everyone for 45 cash. While most all were anticipating paying for their ferry tickets, not everyone was expecting to give him cash...one person asked if he would take a check. All this to say, communication was poor, and the handout we received did not fully explain options nor additional costs. I would not be willing to recommend this travel agency again, and do not feel they represented Viator well.
