Meet your guide and group at the Belfast Tourist Office in the morning, traveling by coach to Tollymore Forest Park, your first film location site.

Learn about the park’s filming role as the location where the Starks’ originally found their “Direwolf” pups, also known as the Kingdom of Mourne. You may even recognize this location for its starring role in the first 15 minutes of the TV series. You’ll also get to enjoy the beautiful forest scenery, which is comprised of some of Ireland’s oldest pine trees, and take a 1.9-mile (3-kilometer) walk along a local trail.

Complement your visit this famous Direwolf site by actually meeting some real-life “direwolves” from the TV show. Spend some time getting to know these two furry actors, known as Greywind and Summer on the show (Thor and Odin in real life). Just nearby is a replica of the famous “Iron Throne,” offering you the perfect opportunity to pose with these real-life Stark companions.

Continue your tour by visiting the Castle Ward Estate, an 18th-century complex that’s been used as a key filming location for the Stark’s Winterfell. In addition to the 16th-century tower house on site, you may recognize other Castle Ward areas as key filming sites for Game of Thrones locations like the Riverlands, Robb Stark’s camp, and more. Key show scenes featuring Jamie Lannister, Briene of Tarth, Lord Walder Frey, Tyrion Lannister, Ser Bronn, and Talisa Stark were all filmed here. You’ll also have time for another 1.9-mile (3-kilometer) walk.

Leave Castle Ward and check out the grave of St. Patrick’s, patron saint of Ireland, in Downpatrick. Then continue to Inch Abbey, a 12th-century monastic site that played the camp location for Robb Stark’s army and the location where he was crowned “King of the North.” After your Inch Abbey visit, you’ll be dropped off back in Belfast at the tourist office.
