After hotel pickup in Alice Springs in the early morning, travel by air-conditioned coach along Highway 87, enjoying views of the West MacDonnell Ranges, Mt Ebenezer, Mt Conner and the stunning Red Centre landscape along the way.

Your guide breaks up the long drive with several stops. After about one hour, pull into Stuarts Well, a typical Outback roadhouse where you have a light breakfast. Then continue towards Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park and take a break morning tea at the Mt Conner lookout point (typically served with lamington, a traditional Aussie cake, and a cool drink or hot billy tea).

Upon your arrival at Uluru, your guide leads several activities around the massive sandstone rock formation. Uluru (formerly known as Ayers Rock) is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is considered sacred to the Aboriginal people. Hear about Tjukurpa art on the Mala walk; take a guided hike around the entire base of Uluru; see Aboriginal rock art on the way to the Mutitjulu Waterhole; and hear about the traditions of the Anangu people. Learn more about Aboriginal culture and art at the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre.

Next, drive about 45 minutes to reach the other large rock formation in the national park, Kata Tjuta (aka the Olgas). Discover the site with your guide, taking in the numerous dome-shaped rock formations that contain beautiful trails and valleys, the Walpa Gorge and secluded watering holes.

Before sundown, head the Uluru sunset viewing area to enjoy a breathtaking sunset over UIuru. Sip complimentary sparkling wine or juice as the natural light show unfolds, then feast on a barbecue dinner that includes meats, salad and bread.

When dinner ends, make the 6.5-hour drive back to Alice Springs where your tour ends with hotel drop-off.

Wonderful experience, well worth the long day. Tour guides kept us informed, well fed and watered, plenty of interesting stops. We went for Uluru, the Olgas were a huge lol bonus, spectacular! Bus comfortable, great vision from within, bring a water bottle - bus carries cold water. Sunset dinner was lovely, highly recommend this tour.

Despite I was told my tour booked did not have enough travelers so I was transferred to Emu Run. Surprisingly it was a satisfactory day trip. We had two guides/drivers whom are both very professional. They explained to us in very details about the tourist attractions, history and dreamtime stories. Very informative day. All meals were included during the day and they were not bad. We had nonstop flow of snacks and fruits in between. Everything was taken care of perfectly. I would definitely recommend Emu Run to other friends who are traveling to Uluru.

Our guides for the day were Matt and Luke.
It is a long day but they were organised, enthusiastic, informative and helped us get the most out of our experience of visiting these sites.
We now know more about camels than we ever would have dared to ask or expect!
As for dinner, they cooked up a storm before the sunset and next we off on the journey back to Alice with the Wanderers!!

The tour was well organized and executed. The guides were very knowledgeable and well versed in the Australian culture and commons. We were well taken care of with food and drink. The sunset viewing of Uluru and the BBQ was outstanding. If you can not afford the high pricing of staying out at the Rock then this is the tour for you.

An absolutely fantastic trip! It was a long day but I wouldn't change a thing. All of the stops were great and just the right amount of time. The driver and guide were both fantastic. The BBQ at Uluru for sunset was icing on the cake. Very glad we did it!
