Viking World Tours

10 Reviews
Journey back to the Viking Age with a visit to Iceland’s Viking World museum, where the star exhibit is the impressive Icelander (Íslendingur) Viking ship. A painstakingly accurate replica of a 9th-century Viking ship, the Icelander made headlines when it sailed the Atlantic in 2000 to commemorate Leifur Eiríksson´s journey to the New World. Today, the ship is on display for museum visitors, who can walk beneath the hull and take a peek on-board.

As well as admiring the Viking ship, visitors can discover more about Iceland’s fascinating Viking history through a series of exhibitions covering the Viking Expansion across the North Atlantic; the settlement of Iceland; and Norse mythology and myths. There’s also a Settlement Zoo and Viking’s Playground for children, and a café with spectacular views across the Atlantic Ocean.
