13th Arrondissement Tours

Sitting southeast of city center on the left bank of the River Seine, the 13th Arrondissement is best known as home to Paris' booming Asian Quarter, also known as Little Asia or the Quartier Asiatique. Once an industrial neighborhood full of slaughterhouses, tanners, and leather workshops, the 13th Arrondissement is now an international destination celebrated for its Vietnamese, Chinese, Lao, and Cambodian influences, brought over with immigrants in the '70s and '80s. Visitors should walk along Avenue de Choisy, the heart of Little Asia, for shopping and good eats.

In addition to the Asian Quarter, visitors may enjoy the charming neighborhood of La Butte aux Cailles in the western part of the arrondissement, as well as the Bibliotheque National de France; the Manufacture des Gobelins, a former royal tapestry factory that is now open for tours; and the Stade Charlety, which plays host to soccer, tennis, rugby, and squash matches.
