The southern Thailand province of Krabi is surrounded by surreal rocky islands that poke out of the surrounding turquoise Andaman Sea, including the beautiful group known as the Hong Islands.
A popular day-trip destination from Ao Nang, the Hong Islands are fringed with rain forest and white-sand beaches, along with rocky viewpoints and hidden lagoons. Offshore dives reveal a spectacular underwater world of coral reefs, and those sea-kayaking can access lovely sea caves.
The Hong Islands are about 15.5 miles (25 kilometers) southwest of Ao Nang. Organized tour boats and sea-kayaks leave for the islands from Ao Nang’s ferry dock.
