Texas Governor's Mansion Tours

Since 1856 the Texas Governor's Mansion has served as the official home of Lone Star State officials and their families. Widely recognized as the fourth-oldest continually operational governor’s house in the country, this Greek Revival-style structure is an iconic Austin landmark.

Visitors who tour the regal mansion will find floor-to-ceiling windows, vast corridors, stately porches and stunning verandas. Free tours prove one of the historical highlights for travelers exploring this city that’s better known for live music and tasty Tex-Mex. Visitors are required to clear security and the 20-minute tour showcases only the first floor. Still, guests will leave with a truly insider’s look at historical home furnishings, ornate details and iconic pieces of Texas history.
