Imagine waterslides and wave pools just steps from a white-sand beach—then throw in a handful of leaping dolphins to top off the tropical image. That picture you see is El Rollo Acapulco, where families flock to the oceanfront slides and pools for a day of fun in the sun. Try visiting on a weekday to avoid the big weekends crowds.
Grab a tube, either single or double, and head to the top of one of the epic waterslides to fly down the 40-foot tower. Splash in the huge wave pool after zipping down, or try out the Sky Coaster, which takes you soaring to dizzying heights with views looking out over the beach.
Just make sure you aren't flying through air when it's time for the daily 2:30pm dolphin show with its lineup of tricks and maneuvers. Although not offered by Viator, guests can also purchase an add-on dolphin swim experience.
El Rollo Acapulco is located right on La Costera in the center of downtown Acapulco's tourist zone. It's within walking distance of most hotels, but if you're staying farther up or down the beach, you can catch any La Costera bus plying the coastal highway. Admission costs $12 for anyone over four feet tall and $10 for children between three and four feet tall. Amenities include lockers and a restaurant.
